GWSkyNet-MassGap

GWSkyNet-MassGap is an extension of the GWSkyNet-Multi neural network framework and predicts the probability that a candidate binary merger event has a component in the lower mass gap and the probability that it has a component which is a neutron star, assuming that the source is astrophysical (i.e., not a glitch). The predictions facilitate time-sensitive decisions about whether to perform electromagnetic follow-up of candidate events during LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) observing runs.

O4 Predictions

The model predictions for all significant multi-detector CBC candidate events since the start of the fourth observing run (O4) can be found in the table below. For each candidate event the GWSkyNet-MassGap predicted probability for MassGap and NS (and the associated uncertainty) is provided, along with the inputs to the model determined from the BAYESTAR localization.
